UPPCO Responds to Blizzard-Induced Power Outages in Upper Peninsula

The Upper Peninsula is currently under a blizzard warning, leading to power outages in several western counties. UPPCO is actively working to restore power to thousands of customers in Ontonagon, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Baraga counties. Houghton County is the most affected, with nearly 4,000 customers without electricity. Additional contractor crews have been deployed to support the restoration efforts in Ontonagon and Houghton counties. UPPCO is closely monitoring the storm's progress and will respond accordingly to ensure customer and crew safety. If you come across a downed power line, maintain a safe distance of at least 35 feet and contact 911 immediately.
