Robert Irwin Triumphs on DWTS and Heads to South Africa for New TV Show Adventure

Robert Irwin, the winner of Dancing With the Stars, is not slowing down anytime soon. Following his victory in season 34, Irwin is set to jet off to South Africa to film another television show. He will be hosting the Australian version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! alongside Julia Morris, with the new season premiering in January 2026. Irwin mentioned that he will have a packed schedule with trips to New York and South Africa before returning home to Australia.
Despite the end of the DWTS season, Irwin's professional dance partner, Witney Carson, will be joining him in Australia next spring. The duo shared their excitement about continuing their partnership beyond the dance competition. Irwin's busy schedule comes after a challenging 11 weeks of ballroom dancing, during which he faced various injuries and ailments.
During the DWTS finale, Irwin revealed that he had been dealing with rib pain due to tension in the intercostal muscles. Carson expressed her concern for Irwin's well-being and prioritized his health above all else. The duo had to make adjustments to their freestyle dance routine due to Irwin's injury, but they managed to deliver a stellar performance, scoring a perfect 30 and ultimately winning the competition.
Irwin's victory on DWTS follows in the footsteps of his older sister, Bindi, who won the show with Derek Hough a decade ago. The finale also saw influencer Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy in second place, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa in third place, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach in fourth place, and actress Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten in fifth place. Despite the challenges and exhaustion, Irwin and Carson's hard work paid off as they danced their way to victory.
