Nicki Minaj Faces Potential Sale of $20 Million California Home to Settle Lawsuit Debt

Nicki Minaj is facing the possibility of selling her $20 million California home to settle a debt resulting from a lawsuit filed by a former bodyguard. The Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco tentatively decided during a recent hearing to grant a motion by the defendant, Thomas Weidenmuller, seeking to compel Minaj to sell her Los Angeles home to satisfy a $503,000 judgment he obtained by default. The judge expressed concerns about ensuring a fair sale that covers the judgment amount.

To proceed with the sale of Minaj's home, Judge Pánuco requires a Bank of America statement detailing Minaj's mortgage payments and daily interest accrual since October 2022. The lawsuit against Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, stemmed from an incident in 2019 where Weidenmuller alleged that Petty physically assaulted him during a confrontation at a concert in Frankfurt. Weidenmuller claimed to have suffered serious injuries, including multiple jaw fractures requiring extensive medical treatment.

Initially seeking compensation for medical expenses and emotional distress totaling nearly $721,000, Weidenmuller was awarded $503,318 by the judge after Minaj and Petty failed to respond to the lawsuit. The Pettys have not publicly addressed the situation, and a follow-up hearing is scheduled for January 22, 2026, where Judge Pánuco will finalize her decision based on the remaining documentation. The outcome of the hearing will determine whether Minaj will have to sell her home to settle the debt.
