KISS Celebrates 50th Anniversary of 'Alive!' with Super Deluxe Box Set Unboxing Video

KISS's Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons unbox the 50th-anniversary super deluxe box set of their iconic live album "Alive!" in a six-minute video, celebrating the record that propelled the band to global fame. The "Alive!" album, turning 50 in 2025, is hailed as one of the greatest live albums ever, featuring a Super Deluxe 8-LP + Blu-ray Audio box set with 120 tracks, including 88 unreleased ones. The box set includes remastered original album tracks, full-length concerts from the 1975 "Dressed To Kill" tour, bonus tracks, and a Blu-ray Audio disc with new mixes by Eddie Kramer.

The Super Deluxe box set also includes a 100-page hardcover book with liner notes, a 1975 press kit, various collectibles like posters, ticket stubs, and backstage passes, as well as a newspaper featuring a track-by-track interview with Eddie Kramer. The album tracks, live performances, and bonus tracks are meticulously curated to provide fans with an immersive experience of KISS's live shows from the 1970s.

Eddie Kramer, the legendary producer and engineer, shared insights into the making of the original "Alive!" album, highlighting the band's dedication to capturing their live sound in the studio. Despite some post-production work to enhance the recordings, the album remains a true representation of KISS's live energy and performance. Paul Stanley emphasized the importance of creating an album that truly immersed listeners in the live experience, setting "Alive!" apart as a groundbreaking live album.

KISS bid farewell with their final shows in December 2023 at Madison Square Garden, culminating in a live pay-per-view event on December 2, 2023. The band's "End Of The Road" farewell tour, which began in 2019, was temporarily halted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, KISS delivered a memorable final tour, showcasing their enduring legacy and impact on the music industry.

Last year, KISS made headlines by selling their music catalog, likeness, and brand name to Pophouse Entertainment, a Swedish company. This strategic move paved the way for exciting new projects, including a biopic, an avatar show, and a KISS-themed experience, all of which are currently in development with input from Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. The future looks bright for KISS fans as they continue to celebrate the band's legendary career and influence in the music world.
