Aron Magner, the keyboardist of The Disco Biscuits, and Cloudchord, a producer and multi-instrumentalist, have collaborated on a new project that combines their passion for the Grateful Dead with their electronic music expertise. The result is Deadtronica Vol. 1, a collection of remixes of classic Dead songs with a modern electronic twist. The album features nine reimagined tracks, including popular tunes like "Shakedown Street" and "Dancing in the Streets", as well as fan favorites such as "West L.A. Fadeaway" and "Althea". Each track is infused with dance beats and vibrant synth melodies, creating a unique fusion of electronic production and the Dead's original vocals. Special guests Jonathan Colman and Ari Dvorin contribute their talents to the project, adding funky bass and saxophone/flute elements to certain tracks. Magner's deep connection to the Grateful Dead is evident in this project, showcasing his ability to blend his electronica background with his love for the Dead's music.
