Reviving the Classics: John Gore Studios Acquires Tyburn Film Productions Limited

John Gore Studios has recently acquired Tyburn Film Productions Limited, a renowned UK genre producer, along with its extensive film and television library. Tyburn's collection features classic horror and thriller movies starring iconic actors like Peter Cushing, John Mills, Ray Milland, Christopher Lee, Anne Baxter, and Lana Turner. This acquisition will not only expand John Gore Studios' intellectual property portfolio but also open doors for potential remakes and adaptations of Tyburn's films.

The addition of Tyburn Film Productions to John Gore Studios complements its existing legendary horror label, Hammer Films, which was acquired in 2023. Furthermore, the studio also owns Silver Salt Restoration, a UK film restoration specialist that will be responsible for restoring Tyburn films, as well as KFilm, an international sales and UK distribution group. Recently, John Gore Studios made a majority investment in Hilltop Screen, a UK production company, to enhance its production capabilities.

Founded in 1971 by Kevin Francis, Tyburn Film Productions has produced a range of gothic horror films and psychological thrillers, including titles like "The Creeping Flesh" (1973), "The Ghoul" (1975), and "Legend of the Werewolf" (1975). The studio's library also includes psychological thrillers like "Persecution" (1974) and "Murder Elite" (1985). This strategic acquisition aligns with John Gore Studios' vision to revitalize iconic film libraries and heritage brands.

John Gore Studios, led by veteran British theatre producer John Gore, has a strong team, including CEO Hilary Strong and Chief Acquisitions Officer Jonathan Lack. The studio's film production slate features exciting projects like "The Bitter End," "Ithaqua," "The Queen of Fashion," and "Frank and Percy." Additionally, the studio has begun restoring classic films from the Hammer archive, with 4K restorations released as Limited Collector's Editions and theatrically through Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment.

John Gore Studios aims to honor Tyburn Films' legacy of pioneering British horror and thrillers while exploring new storytelling opportunities on global platforms. Kevin Francis, the founder of Tyburn, expressed his confidence in the acquisition, stating that John Gore Studios understands the tradition and potential that come with Tyburn's catalogue. This acquisition marks a significant step in preserving and revitalizing classic genre films for future audiences.
