Squeeze's 'Trixies': A Nostalgic Journey Through Time and Talent

Squeeze, the iconic rock band, is set to release their first new album in eight years, titled "Trixies," on March 6. The album features early songs written by founding members Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook as teenagers in the 1970s. These tracks, including "Don't Go Out in the Dark" and "The Place We Call Mars," were set in a fictional club named Trixies. The band revisited this material with their touring band, producing an album that showcases their youthful songwriting talent.

The album, produced by former Roots bassist Owen Biddle, features songs that astound Difford and Tilbrook, who are proud of their teenage selves for creating such great music. The band's musical experience has allowed them to properly record these early tracks, which remain true to their original form. Additionally, Squeeze has recorded an album of entirely new material that will be released in the future.

Squeeze will be touring with Madness in the U.K., culminating in a show at the O2 Arena in London on December 20. The process of revisiting the Trixies songs has been emotional for Tilbrook, who is moved by the quality of the music and the realization of his ongoing creative journey. Difford expresses his joy at discovering the band's early songwriting talent and is proud of the music they created as teenagers.

The tracklist for "Trixies" includes songs like "What More Can I Say," "The Dancer," and "It's Over." The album promises to be a nostalgic and innovative addition to Squeeze's discography, showcasing their enduring musical prowess. Fans can look forward to new and classic Squeeze material as the band continues to captivate audiences with their timeless sound.
