Chadwick Boseman to Receive Posthumous Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame: A Tribute to the Late Actor's Legacy

The late actor Chadwick Boseman will receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 20th. The star-studded event will feature speeches from Ryan Coogler, the director of Black Panther, and Viola Davis, Boseman's co-star in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Boseman's widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the award on his behalf, with Steve Nissen, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, serving as the emcee. The star will be located at 6904 Hollywood Blvd., and fans can watch a livestream of the event on WalkOfFame.com.
Boseman gained recognition for his roles in films like 42, where he portrayed Jackie Robinson, and Get On Up, where he played James Brown. He also starred in Marshall, Captain America: Civil War, and the groundbreaking Black Panther, which earned seven Academy Award nominations. Boseman's performance in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom earned him an Academy Award nomination, as well as the NAACP Image Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. He also produced and starred in 21 Bridges and appeared in Da 5 Bloods, directed by Spike Lee.
Tragically, Boseman passed away from colon cancer at the age of 43 on August 28, 2020. His contributions to the film industry and his impactful performances will be remembered and celebrated during the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
