2025 America's Cup: Team USA Prepares for Power Soccer World Cup in Phoenix

The U.S. power soccer team is preparing for the upcoming World Cup, with Phoenix hosting the 2025 America's Cup in November. The tournament will feature Team USA and five other countries competing at the Ability360 Sports and Fitness Center from Nov. 16-19, 2025. Fans can anticipate thrilling matchups showcasing top power soccer athletes like Pete Winslow, Lexi Heer, and Jordan Dickey, who is a former Arizona State Sun Devil known for his exceptional dribbling skills.

Winslow and Johnson, teammates on the Minnesota Shockwave club team, are known for their impressive set pieces. Team USA is determined to redeem themselves after finishing third in the 2023 World Cup in Sydney. The next World Cup will be held in Buenos Aires in October 2026, with seven teams already qualified, including France, England, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, Australia, and Japan.

Power soccer is an adaptive wheelchair sport played by athletes who use electric wheelchairs in their daily lives. The game is played on a basketball court with customized wheelchairs designed for the sport. Each chair has a metal guard at the feet of the athlete for dribbling and hitting the ball. The tournament games will take place at the Ability360 Sports and Fitness Center in Phoenix, a facility designed for people with disabilities but open to all abilities.

The games will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Nov. 16-19, with a full schedule available on the USPSA Facebook page.
