Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series: Act I Recap and Corinthian Division Highlights
The 2025–2026 Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series commenced with Act I organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco, featuring 23 crews competing in eight races over four days. Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio and the G-Spot team dominated the event, securing five wins and claiming the top spot overall. The Italian team on Alice put up a strong fight, finishing second, while the French team Euro-Voiles clinched third place after a remarkable performance on the final day. The competition was intense, with tight margins differentiating the top teams.
In the Corinthian division, Euro-Voiles excelled once again, taking the top spot, followed closely by the Swiss teams Tarte-3Nuits.com and Rhubarbe-3Nuits.com. The races were closely contested, with photo finishes highlighting the competitive nature of the event. Monaco reaffirmed its status as a premier sailing destination for the J/70 class, with the Yacht Club hosting a significant number of teams and providing ideal conditions for testing skills and setups ahead of upcoming regattas.
The Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series serves as a prelude to the prestigious Primo Cup-Trophée UBS, set for March 5–8, 2026, and continues to be a highlight of one-design sailing in the Mediterranean. The upcoming Act II in December promises more excitement, with tight standings from Act I setting the stage for thrilling races. Before that, the 'Navicap Challenge-Trophée Elena Sivoldaeva' event from November 28–30 will bring together able-bodied and disabled sailors for a unique and inclusive competition on Hansa 303 boats, reflecting the Yacht Club de Monaco's commitment to equality and sportsmanship.
