Jack Antonoff Dismissed from Taylor Swift Copyright Infringement Lawsuit: Latest Updates

A recent court decision dismissed singer-songwriter Jack Antonoff from a copyright infringement lawsuit involving Taylor Swift and other co-defendants. The plaintiff, Florida artist Kimberly Marasco, voluntarily removed Antonoff from the case in an amended complaint. Marasco accused Swift and her collaborators of copying her poetry in songs from various albums. This lawsuit is the second one Marasco has filed against Swift, with the first one being dismissed last year. Antonoff's attorneys argued that he was not properly served with the lawsuit documents. Marasco acknowledged the deficiencies in the proof of service affidavit and Antonoff's denial, leading to his dismissal from the case without prejudice. The court is still considering a request to dismiss songwriter Aaron Dessner from the lawsuit. If you have a story for Newsweek or questions about this case, contact [email protected].
