Experience the Chill at Ice Realm: Westminster's Premier Ice Rink Reopens with Exciting Upgrades and Programs

Westminster is experiencing a drop in temperatures as the community celebrates the reopening of the Ice Realm ice rink on Springdale Street. The 36,000-square-foot facility, previously known as the Westminster Ice Arena, has undergone significant improvements since its closure in early 2024. Ice Realm, the new owner, has revitalized the rink with upgrades, including a refreshed ice surface, a restaurant, lounge, gym, and pro shop.
Jake Dyck, the marketing representative for Ice Realm, expressed excitement about welcoming everyone back to the renovated rink. The facility now offers a youth hockey team program called the California Surf, as well as opportunities for local high schools to use the ice. Rick Hutchinson, Ice Realm's executive vice president, emphasized the owners' commitment to making the rink a hub for family-friendly activities and creating lasting memories for visitors.
Ice Realm is hosting free ice skating and hockey programs on Saturdays, including partnerships with USA Hockey to provide gear to participants and figure skating instructors for guidance. Additionally, themed nights like Thanksgiving and Ugly Sweater nights are planned to add variety to the public skating sessions. Ben Frank, CEO of Ice Realm, highlighted the importance of sports in bringing people together and strengthening communities, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to create a space for such experiences in Westminster.
