Brooklyn Nets Assign First-Round Picks to G League Affiliate Long Island Nets for Season Opener

Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf, and Danny Wolf, three first-round picks of the Brooklyn Nets, have been assigned to the team's G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets. While the Brooklyn Nets have upcoming games against the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons, it is likely that the three players will be suiting up for the Long Island Nets in their opener against the Capital City Go-Go, the G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards. Egor Demin, another Nets first-round pick, is expected to be the only one of the five first-rounders with the team due to Drake Powell's ankle injury.
Among the three players, Saraf has seen the most NBA minutes, averaging 16.7 minutes per game in five games. Traore has played 11.0 minutes in three games, and Wolf made his league debut recently, playing over three minutes. The assignment to the Long Island Nets is intended to provide them with more playing time and development opportunities.
In addition to the three assigned players, the Long Island Nets roster includes Grant Nelson, Tyson Etienne, E.J. Liddell, Yuri Collins, Nate Williams, Jay Scrubb, David Muoka, Terry Roberts, and Tre Scott. The team is gearing up for their opener against the Capital City Go-Go and will have a strong lineup of NBA veterans and promising young talents.
The Brooklyn Nets currently have two-way roster slots available, making them the only NBA team with vacancies in that regard. They have until March 4 to fill those slots with eligible players. The Long Island Nets' season opener against the Capital City Go-Go will be broadcast on the G League website at 7:00 p.m. ET, with additional games scheduled for Sunday and the following week. The team is looking to start the season strong and showcase the talent on their roster.
