Mark Kane Returns to Competitive Rallying at Rallye de La Nucía Mediterráneo – Costa Blanca in Spain

Mark Kane, a Tullamore native now based in Tralee, is set to make his return to competitive rallying at the Rallye de La Nucía Mediterráneo – Costa Blanca in Spain this weekend. Kane, a former student at Tullamore CBS, was a successful rally driver in the midlands and Irish circuit before taking a break. He will be driving a Hyundai i20 R5 prepared by PCRS Rallysport for the two-day tarmac event near Benidorm, covering 161 kilometers of closed public roads.

Kane's co-driver for the event will be Jeff Case from Laois, marking his 100th rally start. This will be Kane's first time competing in a left-hand drive car and his first rally outside Ireland as a driver. Despite his surprise at being seeded 15th for the event, Kane is looking forward to the challenge and is ready to give it his all on the Spanish roads.

Joining Kane in Spain is Phillip Allen from County Tyrone, who will be driving a Škoda Fabia Rally2 evo with Welsh co-driver Craig Drew. The Irish representation at the event adds to the excitement of the competition and showcases the talent of Irish rally drivers on the international stage.
