City Section Volleyball Playoffs: Intense Matches and Semifinal Showdowns

High school girls' volleyball in the City Section playoffs saw some intense matches on Wednesday. In the Open Division, Venice, El Camino Real, Taft, and Palisades secured their spots in the semifinals. The Division III teams also battled it out, with Panorama, Verdugo Hills, New West Charter, Sun Valley Magnet, Chavez, LA Hamilton, Alliance Levine, and Sun Valley Poly advancing to the next round. In Division IV, Marquez, Van Nuys, Fulton, Fairfax, Huntington Park, Animo Robinson, South East, and Bell emerged victorious. The Division V teams that made it to the next round include Middle College, Santee, Legacy, L.A. Wilson, RFK Community, Sotomayor, Jefferson, and Monroe.
Thursday's schedule is packed with exciting quarterfinal matches in Division I and Division II. Larchmont Charter will face L.A. University, Sherman Oaks CES will take on L.A. Marshall, San Pedro will play against Granada Hills Kennedy, and South Gate will compete against Grant in Division I. In Division II, GALA will challenge East Valley, Lincoln will meet North Hollywood, Bravo will face Maywood CES, and King/Drew will play against Mendez. The playoffs will continue with the quarterfinals for Divisions III-V on November 3 at the higher seeds, followed by the semifinals for Open Division I on November 4 at the higher seeds, and the semifinals for Divisions II-V on November 5 at the higher seeds. The finals for all divisions will take place on November 7-8.
