Cheering on Chase: Mitchell High School Supports Chase Briscoe in NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race
Mitchell High School is excited to support one of their own, Chase Briscoe, as he competes for his first NASCAR Cup Series championship in Phoenix this Sunday. Briscoe, a Mitchell native and Mitchell High School graduate, secured his spot in the "Championship Four" after a victory at Talladega. The school will host a watch party on November 2 at the Mitchell High School gymnasium, with doors opening at 1 p.m. and the race starting at 3 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear racing gear, bring friends, and show their hometown pride.
Chase Briscoe, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing in his first year, has had an impressive season with three wins and seven pole positions, including notable poles at the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400. Taking over the No. 19 Toyota after Martin Truex, Jr.'s retirement, Briscoe is determined to clinch the championship. To achieve this, he must either win the upcoming race or finish ahead of competitors William Byron, Kyle Larson, and Denny Hamlin.
