BC Men's Hockey Falls to Northeastern in Hockey East Opener: A Halloweekend Showdown Recap

The Boston College men’s hockey team faced off against the Northeastern Huskies in their Hockey East opener at home. The game took place during Halloweekend, with many BC students showing up in creative costumes. The first period saw both teams creating scoring opportunities, but neither could find the back of the net. BC's Will Moore had some close chances but was unable to capitalize.
Jan Korec started in goal for BC and had a strong start but gave up two quick goals towards the end of the first period. Teddy Stiga scored on a powerplay to keep the Eagles within one goal at the first intermission. The second period saw BC controlling possession but failing to score, including on multiple powerplay opportunities. Korec had some shaky moments but kept the Huskies from extending their lead.
Northeastern came out strong in the third period and quickly scored to make it 3-1. BC struggled to generate offense, and despite a late push, they couldn't beat Northeastern's goalie. The Huskies sealed the win with an empty-net goal, handing BC a 4-1 defeat at home. BC now sits at 0-3 at Conte Forum and 2-3-1 overall. They will look to bounce back in the rematch at Matthews Arena tomorrow night at 7pm.
