Abandoned 12-Year-Old Boy in Texas: Mother and Boyfriend Leave Child Behind
A 12-year-old boy in Texas was left behind by his mother and her boyfriend who abruptly moved out of their apartment without him. The incident occurred at an apartment complex in Copperas Cove, where the child returned from school to find the apartment empty and his family gone. The police responded to reports of an abandoned child and found the home completely vacant.
The child informed the authorities that his family had packed up and left him behind, leaving the apartment barren. A neighbor revealed that the couple had previously kicked the boy out of the house, and the child mentioned that they had discussed moving at some point. When contacted by the police, the boyfriend stated that the boy was not welcome in his home, denying that the mother had abandoned her son.
The mother, Erica Renee Sanders, claimed that her brother was supposed to pick up the boy after school but refused to provide his contact information to verify her statement.
