The Hook: A Songwriter Showcase in Nashville Featuring Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon

A new songwriter showcase called The Hook recently filmed its pilot episode at Eastside Bowl in Nashville. The show aims to discover and promote undiscovered songs and songwriters by providing a platform for performers to showcase their talent in front of an audience, judges, and a video production crew.
In addition to featuring emerging talent, The Hook also highlights established songwriters and legends in the industry. The pilot episode kicked off with a performance by Vince Herman, the frontman of Leftover Salmon, who also served as a panelist for the show, offering his songwriting expertise and humor.
Vince Herman, known for his work with Leftover Salmon, performed an unreleased song called “St. Somebody” that he co-wrote with Bryan Simpson. Despite Leftover Salmon's reputation as a bluegrass-rooted jam band, Vince Herman's solo performance showcased his skills as a singer-songwriter.
Leftover Salmon, formed in 1989 in Colorado, is celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2025. The band recently released their latest album, "Let’s Party About It," featuring guest appearances by Del McCoury, Sam Bush, and Jason Carter.
Stay tuned for more performance videos and highlights from The Hook's pilot episode, with the full episode set to be released soon. You can subscribe to The Hook on YouTube and follow them on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok for updates on future tapings of the show.
Hosted by award-winning songwriter Caitlin Cannon and Trigger of Saving Country Music, The Hook promises to be a platform for both emerging and established songwriters to showcase their talent and connect with a wider audience.
