Remembering Chen-ning Yang: A Tribute to a Physics Legend

Renowned theoretical physicist Chen-ning Yang passed away in Beijing at the age of 103. He was widely regarded as one of the greatest physicists of the 20th century, often compared to Albert Einstein. Yang made a significant contribution to physics in 1954 when he collaborated with American physicist Robert Mills to develop the Yang-Mills theory. This theory explained how three of nature's fundamental forces - electromagnetic, weak, and strong interactions - function at the subatomic level. It laid the groundwork for the Standard Model, a crucial framework in modern physics that unifies these forces and elucidates the behavior of elementary particles.
