Unrealized Projects and Future Endeavors: Grant Morrison's Comic Book Journey

Grant Morrison, a prolific comic book writer, has had several projects that never came to fruition. In a Reddit AMA session, Morrison revealed details about some of these unrealized projects. One such project was a Phantom Stranger story pitched to Karen Berger in 1987, along with ideas for Animal Man and Arkham Asylum. Morrison also mentioned a Legion of Super-Heroes pitch from around 2000 that involved Jim Lee but ultimately did not materialize.
Morrison discussed their departure from the New 52 relaunch of Action Comics, citing difficulties with maintaining a monthly schedule due to artist availability. They also shared insights into their plans for Multiversity, including a Justice Incarnate series with different story arcs set on various worlds. However, due to other commitments, these ideas were not pursued further.
Regarding 2000AD publishing news stories with Zenith, Morrison expressed disappointment with how the series was handled and the legal issues surrounding it. They also addressed questions about other potential projects like Bizarre Boys, Seaguy Three, and Sinatoro, indicating a desire to finish Sinatoro and hinting at possible future developments.
Despite setbacks with projects like Sinatoro and Seaguy, Morrison remains committed to creating new creator-owned content. They expressed enthusiasm for writing more comics, inspired by their work on Batman/Deadpool, which is set to be published by DC Comics in November. Fans can look forward to more from Morrison in the future as they continue to explore new storytelling opportunities.
