Lehigh Acres Street Racing Arrest: Two Young Drivers Face Charges for Reckless Driving
Two young drivers from Lehigh Acres were arrested for street racing in the early hours of Friday morning. The Lee County Sheriff's Office reported that a blue Subaru WRX and a red Chevy Camaro were seen racing on SR-82 near Sunshine Boulevard. Edel Santos, driving the Subaru, reached a top speed of 103 miles per hour with a child in the car, while Yosniel Freire, driving the Camaro, hit a top speed of 107 miles per hour with three passengers, two of whom were not wearing seat belts. Both Santos and Freire, who are 19-year-old males, were charged with street racing, dangerous excessive speeding, and reckless driving.
