Gene Simmons Hospitalized After Car Accident: Updates on KISS Frontman's Health and Recovery

Gene Simmons, the lead singer of KISS, was hospitalized in Malibu, California, after passing out while driving his car on the Pacific Coast Highway. Simmons, 76, fainted before or after the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Department. His wife, Shannon Tweed, confirmed that Simmons had been discharged from the hospital and is now recovering at home. The accident was attributed to a recent change in medication that required Simmons to drink more water daily.

In a recent incident in 2023, Simmons fell ill on stage during a concert in Brazil. Following the recent car accident, Simmons reassured his fans on social media that he was doing well and described the collision as a minor fender bender. He acknowledged his poor driving skills and thanked his supporters for their kind wishes.

Simmons has a history of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat and dizziness. He has previously discussed his experience with AFib, recalling a frightening episode on stage due to the condition. Despite his health challenges, Simmons and his bandmates are set to reunite at the KISS Army Storms Vegas event in November to celebrate 50 years as a band.

KISS will also be honored at the Kennedy Center later this year by President Donald Trump, despite Simmons and Paul Stanley's public criticism of the president. The band expressed their gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the American ideals of hard work and perseverance that KISS has embodied throughout their career.
