ICE Operation Targets Illegal Aliens with Commercial Driver's Licenses on U.S. Highways
An illegal immigrant with a New York state commercial driver’s license was arrested by ICE in Oklahoma. The individual, identified as Anmol Anmol, was found to have "NO NAME GIVEN" listed as his name on the license. Anmol, an Indian illegal alien, was apprehended during a routine inspection on I-40. He had entered the country in 2023 and was released by the Biden administration. Anmol is now in removal proceedings.
ICE, in collaboration with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, conducted a three-day operation targeting threats to public safety along Interstate 40. A total of 120 illegal aliens were arrested during the operation, with 91 of them operating commercial motor vehicles with licenses granted by sanctuary states. The arrests included individuals from various countries with criminal histories, posing a public safety risk by operating heavy commercial vehicles without proper verification.
The operation highlighted concerns about illegal aliens driving commercial trucks on U.S. highways, following the case of Harjinder Singh, who faces charges of vehicular homicide in Florida. Singh had a commercial driver's license from California despite failing an English language proficiency assessment. The arrest of Anmol Anmol and others underscores the need for stricter standards in issuing commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens to ensure public safety on American roads.
Operation Guardian Sweep, led by ICE and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, aimed to remove illegal aliens from operating commercial vehicles on American highways. The successful collaboration between federal and local law enforcement agencies resulted in the arrest of individuals posing public safety threats. The operation emphasized the importance of state and local agencies joining programs like 287(g) to enhance public safety and receive reimbursement funds.
