Baz Luhrmann's EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert Secures Global Rights with Neon and Universal Pictures Content Group

Neon and Universal Pictures Content Group have secured the global rights to Baz Luhrmann’s EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert. The film is set to be released in theaters in 2026, with Neon handling the domestic distribution and Universal managing the international release. EPiC made its debut at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival to critical acclaim and a standing ovation. The movie features rare footage from Presley’s Vegas residency in the 1970s, as well as recordings of Elvis sharing his story, discovered during Luhrmann’s research for his previous film, Elvis.

EPiC is Luhrmann’s second major project centered on Elvis Presley, following the success of Elvis, which grossed $300 million globally and received eight Academy Award nominations. The film has won multiple BAFTA’s and Golden Globes, including a win for star Austin Butler. Luhrmann expressed his excitement about the project, stating that EPiC is not just a documentary or concert film, but a unique experience that fulfills Elvis's dream to tour the world.

Colin Smeeton, President of Authentic Studios, praised Baz Luhrmann for reimagining how audiences experience Elvis and delivering on his ambitious vision. The collaboration with Neon and Universal Pictures Content Group to share Baz’s vision globally is a significant milestone for Authentic Studios. Stay tuned for more updates on EPiC.
