Rock Legend Bruce Dickinson Sings US National Anthem at NHL Game in Los Angeles

Iron Maiden's lead singer, Bruce Dickinson, recently sang the US national anthem at an NHL game in Los Angeles, following a similar performance at a football game in Pittsburgh. The rendition took place at the Crypto.com Arena before the opening night game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Colorado Avalanche, entertaining a crowd of 18,000 fans. The LA Kings President, Luc Robitaille, expressed excitement about the event, highlighting it as a celebration of Kings hockey and the fans' energy at the arena.

Earlier this year, the Los Angeles Kings established a partnership with Iron Maiden, allowing the use of the band's 1992 song "Fear of the Dark" for in-game entertainment during the 2025-26 home season. Despite Dickinson's powerful rendition of the anthem, the Kings were unable to secure a victory as the Colorado Avalanche triumphed with a 4-1 win. Forward Martin Necas scored twice for the Avalanche, leading them to a convincing victory, with Kevin Fiala scoring a consolation goal for the Kings.

Dickinson's anthem performances have not brought luck to the teams he has supported, as the Pittsburgh Steelers also faced a defeat after his rendition at their game against the Seattle Seahawks. Despite these outcomes, Dickinson concluded his Mandrake Root tour with a show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and announced plans to record his next solo album in January. The Iron Maiden frontman continues to captivate audiences with his musical talents and performances.
