Inspired by her older sister Sydney, Carley started playing soccer at the age of three and has since excelled in the sport. She was a star player for the Buford Wolves in Northeast Atlanta, earning multiple accolades and leading her team to impressive finishes in state competitions.

Having played for the GSA ENCL travel ball team and winning the 2019 ENCL National Championship, Borgelt caught the attention of Georgia Southern, where she decided to continue her soccer career. As a holding midfielder, she may not have the flashy statistics, but her impact on the field is undeniable. Throughout her collegiate career, Borgelt has been a consistent presence, rarely missing a minute of game time.

Despite her success on the field, one of the highlights of Borgelt's career was sharing the pitch with her older sister Sydney during a spring game in 2023. The competitive spirit between the two sisters showcased their shared love for the sport and the bond they developed through training and competing together. As she looks ahead to graduation, Borgelt plans to utilize her marketing degree in the medical or sports sales industry.
