Rush Announces Reunion Tour: Honoring Neil Peart and Celebrating Music Legacy
Rush, the iconic Canadian rock band, is set to hit the road once again despite the tragic loss of their drummer, Neil Peart, who passed away in January 2020. Band members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson recently announced their plans for a reunion tour during a private event at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The decision to tour again was not taken lightly, considering the emotional impact of Peart's death and the challenge of replacing such an irreplaceable member.
During a Q&A session at the event, Geddy Lee revealed that they are considering going on tour next year, much to the delight of the audience. Peart's widow, Carrie Nuttall-Peart, and daughter, Olivia, have given their approval for Anika Nilles to join the band as the replacement drummer for the upcoming Fifty Something tour. The tour is set to celebrate Rush's music legacy and honor Neil Peart's extraordinary contributions as a drummer and lyricist.
The Fifty Something Tour is scheduled to be a 12-date, seven-city tour starting in June 2026 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, where the band played their final show in 2015. The tour will culminate in Cleveland in September 2026, with additional stops in Mexico City, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, and Toronto. Fans can expect an unforgettable experience as Rush embarks on this new chapter in their musical journey, keeping the spirit of their legendary music alive on stage once again.
