Remembering Londynn and Demitrios: Mini-Soccer Pitch Dedication at Winchester Trail Elementary

The Canal Winchester community is preparing to honor the memory of Londynn and Demitrios Wall-Neal, two young siblings who tragically lost their lives nearly four years ago. The dedication of a mini-soccer pitch at Winchester Trail Elementary will serve as a tribute to the children, who were just nine and six years old at the time of their deaths. The siblings, along with their mother's boyfriend, Charles Wade, were victims of a shocking attack on Kodiak Drive, and despite ongoing investigations, the case remains unsolved.

Columbus Police Assistant Chief Lashanna Potts expressed her frustration and determination following the murders, emphasizing the impact of the tragic event on the community. The dedication of the mini-soccer pitch is a collaborative effort spearheaded by Scott Waibel, a Canal Winchester High School alumnus, and employee of Musco Lighting. Musco, in partnership with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, has provided additional funding for the project, which aims to create 1,000 mini-pitches in underserved communities nationwide.

A mini-pitch is a small, hard-court surface designed for organized soccer games and casual play, offering a safe and enjoyable space for children and families to engage in physical activity and build community connections. The dedication ceremony for the mini-soccer pitch at Winchester Trail Elementary will bring together families, students, and neighbors to celebrate the new addition to the campus and honor the memory of Londynn and Demitrios Wall-Neal.
