Warren Zevon Tribute Concert and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Celebration in L.A.

Warren Zevon, the late singer/songwriter, will be posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on November 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Prior to this, a tribute concert titled “Join Me in L.A.: The Songs of Warren Zevon” will take place on October 24 in downtown L.A. The event will feature performances by various artists, including Jackson Browne, Shooter Jennings, and Fountains of Wayne, among others. The show will showcase over 25 songs from different periods of Zevon's career and will be held at The United Theater on Broadway. Tickets for the concert are available for purchase on AXS.com and the proceeds will benefit The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization and The Ed Asner Family Center for the Autism Community.
Warren Zevon, known for his unique blend of wry and poignant tunes, passed away in 2003 at the age of 56 due to mesothelioma. The Wild Honey Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting various charities, is presenting the tribute show in collaboration with Zevon's family. Zevon's most famous song, “Werewolves of London,” reached No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978 and was featured on his Excitable Boy album. The record, which also included hits like “Lawyers, Guns and Money” and “Johnny Strikes Up the Band,” was certified platinum by the RIAA for selling over 1 million copies in the U.S.
Throughout his career, Zevon produced a range of notable songs such as “Hasten Down the Wind,” “Mohammed’s Radio,” and “Desperados Under the Eaves.” He collaborated with artists like Linda Ronstadt and Bruce Springsteen, with Ronstadt scoring a Top-40 hit with her cover of “Poor Poor Pitiful Me.” Zevon's final studio album, The Wind, was released shortly before his passing in 2003 and earned him two posthumous Grammy Awards. The album received the Best Contemporary Folk Album award, while his duet with Springsteen, “Disorder in the House,” won the Best Rock Vocal Performance (Group or Duo) prize.
In recognition of his musical influence and legacy, Warren Zevon will be honored with induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside receiving the Musical Influence Award. The upcoming tribute concert and Hall of Fame induction serve as a fitting tribute to Zevon's enduring impact on the music industry and his dedicated fan base.
