Tweed Makes History as Final Superbike Champion in International Road Racing Championship

Tweed made history as the final Superbike champion in the International Road Racing Championship, as the class will be discontinued in 2026 due to safety concerns. Hailing from Northern Ireland, Tweed clinched the title by finishing eighth in the last race of the season on his Yamaha R1. The race was won by Erno Kostamo from Finland, followed by Freddie Heinrich and Laurent Hoffmann in the top three spots. Tweed now joins a prestigious list of past champions, such as Danny Webb, Davey Todd, Didier Grams, and David Datzer.
