Unveiling John Lennon's School Desk: A Beatles Museum Treasure

A desk once used by John Lennon has been unveiled at the Liverpool Beatles Museum after being found in the attic of a school where he was considered a troublemaker. The desk, along with other memorabilia from Lennon's time at Quarry Bank School, is now on display for fans to see. The school had kept the desk hidden away as Lennon's fame grew, but it has now been revealed to the public.

Design and technology teacher Tom Barry shared the story of how the desk was discovered and the efforts to retrieve it from storage. Despite rumors that Lennon had carved his name into the desk, no such markings have been found. The school is now offering tours for Beatles fans to see the desk, as well as other significant spots where Lennon and his bandmates once performed.

The school had previously downplayed its connection to Lennon and The Beatles, with teachers avoiding any mention of his time there. However, current students are proud to walk the same halls as the legendary musician and are eager to learn about his time at the school. The desk, ledger, and other artifacts from Lennon's school days are now part of the museum's collection for visitors to enjoy.

Fans can visit the museum on Mathew Street to see the desk and other items from Lennon's school days.
