Rhode Islander Tyler Tomassi Makes History in NASCAR Xfinity Series, Set for Truck Series Debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Tyler Tomassi, a 21-year-old from West Greenwich, made history earlier this year by becoming the first Rhode Islander to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 25 years. Now, he is set for another significant opportunity at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Tomassi will be racing the No. 33 truck in the Craftsman Truck Series, filling in for the injured Frankie Muniz. This opportunity holds special significance for Tomassi, who has been a longtime fan of racing in New England and is excited to be part of the action.
Joining Tomassi on the track at Loudon will be Seekonk native Gio Ruggiero, who will be driving the No. 17 truck. The Truck Series race is scheduled to start at noon on Saturday, followed by the Cup Series Mobil 1 301 at 2 p.m. on Sunday, airing on USA Network.
