Remembering Rolling Thunder: Bob Dylan's Historic Plymouth Performances

Plymouth has a rich history, with one of its most significant events being the launch of Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue tour in October 1975. Dylan specifically chose Plymouth for the first two dates of the tour at Memorial Hall on Oct. 30 and 31. The tour was a departure from Dylan's previous arena performances, as he wanted to connect with smaller audiences through word-of-mouth promotion. Rolling Thunder has since become legendary, inspiring numerous articles, books, and a Martin Scorsese documentary, solidifying its place in Dylan's legacy.

As the 50th anniversary of the Plymouth performances approaches, we are reaching out to individuals who attended the concert or were in town during that time and had interactions with Dylan or his entourage. We are gathering stories and memories to create a comprehensive account of what transpired in Plymouth during those two days. If you have a story to share or would like to participate, please email us at [email protected]. Perhaps even Bob Dylan himself will share his recollections of the Rolling Thunder Revue's visit to "America's Hometown" just in time for Halloween, taking a different route down Route 3 instead of Highway 61.
