Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne's Epic Collaboration on 'War Pigs': A Tribute to a Metal Legend

Judas Priest recently revealed that they recorded a version of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" with Ozzy Osbourne on vocals before the singer's passing. Frontman Rob Halford shared this information during an interview on the Full Metal Jackie Podcast radio show. The cover of the 1970 track was put together after Priest released a version of "War Pigs" without Ozzy in July. Ozzy's wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, approached Halford with the idea of collaborating, resulting in a unique duet between the two iconic metal vocalists.
Halford described the collaboration as "colossal" and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with Ozzy on the song. He mentioned that the track is almost ready for release and should be available to fans soon. The singer emphasized the special nature of having Ozzy's vocals on Priest's rendition of "War Pigs," creating a memorable musical experience for listeners.
Despite missing Ozzy's retirement concert in Birmingham, where many metal bands paid tribute to the legendary singer, Priest honored him after his passing. Ozzy passed away on July 22, just days after his final live performance. Priest shared their condolences on social media and incorporated a tribute to Ozzy into their live shows by featuring his image in their video graphics during performances of their song "Giants In The Sky."
Currently, Priest is gearing up for a North American co-headline tour with Alice Cooper, starting in Biloxi, Mississippi, and concluding in Houston, Texas. Fans can find tour dates and additional information on the band's website. The collaboration between Judas Priest and Ozzy Osbourne on "War Pigs" serves as a fitting tribute to the late singer and showcases the enduring legacy of both iconic metal acts.
