6-Banner Sunday: Hoosier Hysteria Changes, Big Ten Projections, Recruiting Updates, and More IU Sports News

Welcome to the latest edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a collaboration between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we bring you the top five IU basketball stories of the week and updates on other IU sports programs.
The traditional Hoosier Hysteria event that marks the start of the basketball season is undergoing a significant change this year. Instead of being held in Assembly Hall, the event will take place outdoors on Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington, known as Hoosier Hoops on Kirkwood. The event will feature both the men's and women's basketball teams and will include player introductions and skills competitions.
Projections for IU basketball in the Big Ten this season are not as optimistic as last year, with new head coach Darian DeVries leading a revamped roster. Publications like Blue Ribbon and Lindy's Sports have placed Indiana in the middle of the pack in the conference. Inside the Hall has also started previewing Big Ten teams, including Penn State, Rutgers, and Minnesota.
In recruiting news, IU offered a scholarship to 2026 top-150 guard Anthony Brown this week. Inside the Hall also provided an updated recruiting board for Indiana targets for September.
IU football continued its winning streak with a dominant 73-0 victory over Indiana State, improving to a perfect 3-0 record. The team will face a tough challenge in their upcoming Big Ten opener against top-10 Illinois.
Podcast on the Brink and Back Home Network shows provided insights into the Big Ten's best players and featured new additions to the network. In other IU sports news, volleyball remains undefeated at 8-0, men's soccer briefly held the No. 1 ranking before falling to Michigan, and other teams like women's soccer, field hockey, and golf had mixed results in their recent matches.
