DC Comics Cancels Red Hood Series: Behind the Controversy and Cancellation

On September 10th, DC Comics informed comics retailers that all orders for upcoming issues of the recently launched Red Hood series would be canceled. The debut issue, penned by Gretchen Felker-Martin and illustrated by Jeff Stokes, hit shelves on the same day, following the adventures of Jason Todd, also known as The Red Hood, and Helena Bertinelli, The Huntress, as they tackle a string of crimes in New Angelique. The series was initially planned as an ongoing title spanning at least 12 issues, with the second and third installments slated for release in October and November, respectively. The decision to halt production was met with inquiries from Popverse, to which the publisher responded, citing reasons for the abrupt cancellation.
The writer had come under fire on social media for remarks made on Bluesky concerning the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
