Commemorating 50 Years of 'Born to Run': The Bruce Springsteen Archives Symposium at Monmouth University

The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of Bruce Springsteen's iconic album "Born to Run." The highlight of the event was a symposium held at the Pollak Theatre, where Springsteen himself participated in discussions and performed two songs from the album with E Street Band members.
The symposium included panels on the writing and making of "Born to Run," featuring Springsteen, E Street Band members, and music industry figures. The event also showcased rare footage from the album's recording sessions and an exhibition of photos from the album cover shoot by photographer Eric Meola.
The celebration culminated in a day of academic conferences and walking tours in Long Branch, where Springsteen lived during the album's creation. The event brought together fans, scholars, and music enthusiasts to commemorate the enduring legacy of "Born to Run."
