Brooklyn's NBA Rookies: Making a Difference in the Community

The Flatbush Five, a group of Brooklyn's NBA rookies, are already making a positive impact in the community. Ben Saraf recently hosted a youth basketball clinic in Canarsie, Brooklyn, providing young hoopers aged 6-16 with the opportunity to train with him and get a t-shirt. This event was organized in collaboration with Pro Athletes Direct and took place at the H.E.S. (Hebrew Educational Society).

This summer has been filled with basketball activities for the Brooklyn youth, with Tyson Etienne, Dariq Whitehead, Drew Timme, and the other Brooklyn rookies also hosting camps and making appearances in the area. Nic Claxton and Noah Clowney hosted a camp in South Carolina, and Tyrese Martin and Terance Mann hosted camps in their hometowns as well.

Despite the end of summer, the Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment organization remains committed to supporting the local youth. They are set to open a youth hoops facility in the old Modell's location near the Barclays Center, featuring multiple courts, shooting labs, and other amenities. Additionally, Practice in the Park is on the horizon, promising more opportunities for youth engagement in the community.
