6-Banner Sunday: IU Basketball Updates and More

Welcome to the latest edition of 6-Banner Sunday, a collaboration between The Assembly Call and Inside the Hall, where we bring you the top five IU basketball stories of the week, along with updates on other IU sports programs.
The IU basketball team has added two new walk-ons to its roster, providing additional depth for practice sessions. These walk-ons, Tryce Grensing and Drew Snively, join the team as non-scholarship freshmen, bringing the total roster count to 17 players, including four walk-ons.
Looking ahead to the 2026 recruiting class, IU is in the running for top prospect Arafan Diane, who has narrowed his choices down to five schools, including Indiana. Diane is set to visit Bloomington during homecoming weekend in October.
On the women's basketball front, the team has announced its non-conference schedule, with key matchups lined up against teams like Florida State, Butler, and Gonzaga. The season kicks off with an exhibition game against Missouri S&T on October 27.
Inside the Hall and UMHoops have been ranking the top 40 Big Ten players for the upcoming season, with IU's Tucker DeVries making the list at No. 15. Meanwhile, IU football secured a dominant 56-9 victory over Kennesaw State, improving their record to 2-0.
In podcast news, Podcast on the Brink and the Back Home Network have been active, discussing Big Ten basketball and other topics. Across other IU sports programs, men's soccer, volleyball, field hockey, women's golf, baseball, and softball have all been making strides in their respective seasons.
