LA Kings Training Camp Countdown: Preseason Games and Roster Updates

The countdown to the NHL season is on as players are gearing up for training camp. The Kings are set to kick off their preseason games in just 15 days. Before that, the Rookie Camp will begin, featuring top prospects like Liam Greentree, Koehn Ziemmer, and Jakub Dvorak.

Training Camp is divided into three segments, starting with the Rookie Camp for newer players in the Kings pipeline. Following that is the main Camp where all players, including NHL roster members, AHL players, and prospects, come together. Coaches aim to trim down the roster to focus on the players preparing for the NHL season.

As Camp progresses, players will be cut or reassigned to AHL camp for the Reign. The process involves waivers for veteran players like Glenn Gawdin and Joe Hicketts. The final roster for Camp will consist of around 28-30 players, including both Kings and Reign players, as well as junior prospects invited to Rookie Camp.

All activities leading up to the season will take place at the Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo. The preseason games will kick off with the Kings facing the Ducks in the Empire Classic at Toyota Arena. The schedule for Camp is expected to include practices, scrimmages, and exhibition games to prepare the team for the upcoming season.
