1960s Music Memorabilia Auction: Beatles Autograph Book, Ivor Novello Certificates, and John Lennon's Sunglasses Up for Grabs!

A collection of rare memorabilia from the 1960s music scene is set to be auctioned off, including an autograph book filled with signatures from iconic bands of the era. The autographs were obtained by a 16-year-old girl named Edwina Smith, who befriended a caretaker named Dennis at Salisbury City Hall, where the Beatles performed in 1963. Edwina had the opportunity to meet the Beatles and other bands like the Rolling Stones, The Hollies, and Little Richard, thanks to Dennis's help.

The autograph book, which features signatures from some of the biggest bands of the 1960s, is expected to fetch between £5,000 and £7,000 at auction. In addition to the autograph book, Ivor Novello certificates that were never collected by John Lennon and Paul McCartney for their song "Yesterday" in 1966 will also be up for auction. These certificates, priced between £600 and £800, were left with the Beatles' music publisher and eventually ended up in the possession of an assistant.

Among the items up for auction is a pair of honey-colored-framed tinted glasses that are said to have belonged to John Lennon. These glasses, valued at £2,000 to £3,000, were given to actor Stephen Buckley, who portrayed Lennon in the film "Birth Of The Beatles." The glasses were reportedly a gift from a woman who worked for Lennon but failed to arrange a meeting between him and Stephen after the film's promotion.

The rare memorabilia, including the autograph book, Ivor Novello certificates, and John Lennon's sunglasses, will be auctioned off at Kingsley House in Chislehurst on September 17. Don't miss this opportunity to own a piece of music history!
