From Mines to Motorsport: The Inspiring Journey of Sabre Cook

A group of students from the Colorado School of Mines gathered outside the Labriola Innovation Building to witness a Porsche driven by Sabre Cook, an alum of the school. Cook shared her passion for driving and the sense of empowerment it brings. She aspires to compete in races like the 24 Hours of Daytona and 24 Hours of Le Mans, aiming for success beyond Formula Three level.

Despite her current success, Cook faced financial barriers to enter the racing world. A chance encounter with a race team owner in Aspen paved the way for her racing career. Cook, a mechanical engineering graduate from Mines, now collaborates with a local Windsor company that sponsors her team, utilizing her engineering knowledge in the racing world.

Cook's journey from karting in Grand Junction to racing at higher levels showcases her determination and talent. Her education at Mines has equipped her with valuable skills that she applies when working with her team of engineers. Cook's story is a testament to the opportunities that can arise when passion, talent, and perseverance intersect.
