Grand Rapids Gold 2025-26 Season Preview: New Coach, Exciting Schedule, and Playoff Aspirations

The Grand Rapids Gold have unveiled their full 2025-26 season schedule, kicking off the season at home against the Noblesville Boom on Nov. 7 at Van Andel Arena. This season will mark the team's fourth year at Van Andel Arena and their fifth season as the Denver Nuggets' developmental affiliate. Ryan Bowen has taken over as head coach for the Gold this season, bringing his experience as a former NBA player and assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets to lead the team. The team is focused on building momentum both on and off the court, aiming to create an electrifying atmosphere at Van Andel Arena for their fans.
The NBA G League will once again feature a split-season format, starting with a 14-game Tip-Off Tournament followed by a 36-game regular season. All 31 G League teams are guaranteed at least 50 games during the 2025-26 season. The Tip-Off Tournament will begin on Nov. 7 and conclude at the 2025 NBA G League Winter Showcase in December. Teams will compete in regional groups during the tournament, with the top teams advancing to the Winter Showcase championship round based on winning percentage. The Gold made a strong showing in the tournament last year, reaching the semi-finals before falling to the eventual champions.
After the Tip-Off Tournament, the regular season will commence during the Winter Showcase event and run through early spring. The G League has expanded its playoff format for 2026, with the top eight teams from each conference qualifying for the postseason. This doubles the previous field of eight total teams and will culminate in the NBA G League Finals in April 2026. The Gold organization has yet to announce details about promotional events, theme nights, or giveaways for the upcoming season, promising to reveal more information at a later date.
