Rome Ramirez: From Sublime to Solo - A Musical Journey of Passion and Renewal

Rome Ramirez, a former Sublime fan from Fremont, California, pursued his dream of making music by moving to Los Angeles at 18. He eventually became the lead singer of Sublime with Rome, playing to a global fan base. Despite the success, Rome felt that the band had become more of a job than a passion, leading to the decision to embark on a solo career.

After 15 years with Sublime, Rome transitioned to a solo artist, blending beachy reggae and hip hop-inspired grooves in his music. His debut EP, "Gemini," is set for release on September 19, accompanied by a series of U.S. tour dates starting on September 17 in Destin, Florida.

Rome's solo journey was catalyzed during the pandemic when he started live-streaming and rediscovered his passion for songwriting. Collaborating with the Dirty Heads on his recent single "Slow & Easy," Rome aimed to create a summer anthem reminiscent of Van Morrison with a modern twist.

Influenced by Motown, Bob Marley, and soul music, Rome's sound is a fusion of reggae, soul, and pop elements. His Mexican heritage plays a significant role in shaping his life values and work ethic, reflecting the strong family-centric culture he grew up in.

For Rome, a good summer song is one that is effortless to listen to and evokes a sense of ease and enjoyment. As he embarks on his U.S. tour, reconnecting with fans in intimate settings, Rome is relishing the opportunity to share his music and connect with audiences on a more personal level.
