Junior forward Savannah Muldrew opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, followed by Kamara Bradley's impressive 30-yard strike just before halftime, assisted by Jocelyn Musil, to give TSU a 2-0 lead at the break.
The Texas Southern defense was solid throughout the match, limiting North American University to just five shots and no corner kicks. Goalkeeper Alessandra Bastidas made three crucial saves to secure the clean sheet for the Lady Tigers. Head Coach Danesha Adams commended the team's effort but stressed the importance of maintaining their intensity in future games.
Looking ahead, Texas Southern will continue their non-conference play as they travel to Beaumont to take on Lamar University on Wednesday, September 4, at 7 p.m. The team will aim to build on their recent victory and carry the momentum forward as they face their next opponent.
