Man Arrested for Smuggling Cannabis into Isle of Man via Fishing Boat Apprehended at Liverpool Airport

A suspect accused of smuggling cannabis into the Isle of Man via a fishing boat has been apprehended at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Liam Dunne, 38, was arrested by the Isle of Man Constabulary last Wednesday on charges related to drug importation and money laundering. Dunne, formerly residing on Burlington Street in Vauxhall, was taken into custody at the Liverpool airport on August 16 upon his return from Spain. He was extradited to the Isle of Man two days later and arrested by the serious organised crime unit of the Isle of Man Constabulary. Following his court appearance, Dunne has been remanded in custody for a future court date. The charges against him include involvement in the production of controlled class A and B drugs from July 2023, as well as 19 counts of removing criminal property between 2020 and 2023, under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
