HoopsHype recently released its annual list of the top 78 international basketball players, taking into account both FIBA and NBA achievements. The rankings were determined by the HoopsHype staff, with eight former Houston Rockets players making the cut.
At the very top of the list sits Hakeem Olajuwon, widely regarded as the greatest Rocket of all time. Known for his speed, athleticism, and defensive prowess, Olajuwon's legacy as a dominant post player is unmatched. Following closely behind is Dikembe Mutombo, a defensive stalwart who made a name for himself with his shot-blocking abilities and longevity in the league.
Yao Ming, the towering center drafted first overall in 2002, earned the 16th spot on the list for his All-Star performances and impact on the global popularity of the NBA. Another Rockets favorite, Luis Scola, is recognized for his contributions to Argentina's national team and solid NBA career.
Steven Adams, known for his screen-setting and rebounding skills, and Clint Capela, a versatile big man excelling in rebounding and shot-blocking, also made the list at 52 and 53, respectively. Lastly, Vassilis Spanoulis, a Euroleague legend with limited NBA experience, rounds out the list at number 75.
