Tom Sandoval and The Most Extras: America's Got Talent Journey
Tom Sandoval and his band, The Most Extras, impressed the judges during their audition on America’s Got Talent, earning a spot in the quarterfinals. However, their performance on the first live show of Season 20 fell short of expectations. Despite receiving positive feedback from judges Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Mel B, Simon Cowell was not impressed and hit his red buzzer during their rendition of “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd.
Sandoval explained that his in-ears malfunctioned before the performance, affecting his ability to hear properly on stage. While Mel B praised his stage presence and commitment, Cowell and Vergara criticized the sound quality of the performance. Mandel, on the other hand, commended Sandoval’s band and predicted that they would be in high demand for future events.
In their previous audition, The Most Extras delivered an energetic performance of A-Ha’s “Take On Me,” which received positive feedback from the judges.
