The Voice Season 29: Battle of Champions and Kelly Clarkson's Return
NBC is currently filming seasons 28 and 29 of The Voice simultaneously. Kelly Clarkson has returned to the set for season 29 after the passing of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. Kelly missed one taping following Blackstock's death, and Jennifer Hudson filled in for her. Season 29 is being called Battle of Champions, with Kelly competing against past winning coaches Adam Levine and John Legend. Kelly's talk show will not be affected by the family tragedy and will start production in early September. The new season of Kelly's interview series, Songs & Stories, premiered with the Jonas Brothers and will feature Gloria Estefan, Teddy Swims, and Lizzo in upcoming episodes. Season 28 of The Voice will premiere this fall with guest appearances by Michael Bublé, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Reba McEntire, who was Blackstock's stepmother.
